Not until N'Gai and I put God first in our lives did we really begin to learn more about each other and opened up to considering marriage. After enrolling in pre-engagement and marriage courses at church, we decided to take our relationship to the next level. At this point, calling one another "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" just didn't do the relationship justice!

|
Our engagement night took place on a summer night when we decided to head to the beach in La Jolla to enjoy the moonlight. We talked about how we were looking forward to spending our lives together. Soon after, N'Gai got on bended knee and proposed! We both felt so alive and vibrant!

The wedding was held in the late afternoon of Sunday, May 18, 2008 in the Egyptian Patio of Darlington House. This 7,500 square foot historic San Diego villa showcases a magnificent range of designs by renowned architects of the 1920s and 1930s.

For nearly 40 years since the villas purchase by Social Service League of La Jolla, a non-profit group, Darlington House has been used to help support its primary aim: to maintain The League House, a home for seniors who need a financial helping hand. For us, this was the icing on the cake - our rental of the home is used to help others!

I wanted my entire wedding day "look" to fit with the theme of the beautiful home. The birdcage type veil was one of the items I started looking for immediately! After trying on a few long veils that were beautiful, I still wanted something different.

After many online searches, I found www.unveiledbridaldesigns.com and voilà – it was just what I was looking for! I was most excited about being able to customize my veil. Dorene helped me create something that was just perfect for my dress and the venue! My hairstylist worked with me to get it all just right and I couldn't have been happier.

|
A special part of working with Unveiled Bridal Designs is that Dorene is a woman of God and believes that she was called by Him to do this work for brides. I truly feel in my heart that I was blessed on my wedding day because of the love and care she put into the creation of my veil. Even though I never met her, it was still such a special gift to me!

The day after our wedding we fulfilled a long awaited South Pacific dream and honeymooned in Tahiti and Bora Bora. For years, we wanted to visit the islands for a vacation and going for our honeymoon was so sweet and special to us!
We thank God for bringing us to where we are today and pray He brings us closer to Him every day.
