Storybook destination wedding

Peter and Tracey wanted to share their lovely wedding with you. They are a featured couple in the October 2008 addition of Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Magazine. Tracey is also an Unveiled Bridal Besign bride and wore the Angle veil to complete her vintage inspired look.

Peter and Tracey met on April 2007 though a mutual friend. It was love at first site! They had their first date May 15, 2007 and Peter proposed January 11, 2008. The rest was history!

Peter and Tracey were married in Interlaken, which means ‘between lakes’. Interlaken is situated on the Aare River between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland region of the Canton of Berne in the shadow of the Jungfrau, the Swiss Alps highest peak.

Interlaken is an outdoor paradise known for backpacking, canyoning, hang gliding, skydiving, paragliding and skiing. Berne, Switzerland’s fifth most populous city is approximately 50 minutes by train and is also the capital of the Canton of Berne. Interlaken’s location nestled among the mountains on the western edge of the Swiss Alps is simultaneously breathtaking and inspiring.

They decide on this destination for they’re wedding because Tracey was scheduled to photograph a destination wedding in Ascea. Peter had spent two weeks in Switzerland 2007 and fell in love with the country. Both wanted a non-traditional wedding so they decide to get married in Switzerland after Tracey’s destination wedding in Italy. Combining the two trips was a perfect match and they decided to get married in Switzerland and keep it a secret. Only Tracey’s father and Peter’s parents knew about the wedding plans!

The vision for there intimate wedding was elegant, romantic, quaint, and very Swiss. We wanted something unique, personal and memorable. I also didn’t want a typical wedding dress. I love my dress, very 50’s and classic. Tracey’s veil was an Angle Birdcage that she had me custom create for her. On the comb was a simple but elegant cluster of ivory seed beads. This was the perfect compliment to her vintage inspired dress and fresh flowers in her hair.

After the civil ceremony Tracey, Peter, Garret and Joy had a champagne lunch on the outdoor patio of Schuh Grand Restaurant in Interlaken. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking photographs in Interlaken and the surrounding country side.

If you are thinking about having a Swiss destination wedding here are a few tips from Tracey and Peter. You can read more in their article in Destination Weddings & Honeymoons.
