Gerad and Britney

What a lovely wedding I hope you are inspired!

It was love at first sight! Both of us were immediately attracted to one another and within a month had fallen hopelessly in love.

Planning the Wedding

The Location
We both grew up in Louisiana, and I wanted a Southern Louisiana plantation wedding. My bridesmaids and I spent a weekend road trip touring 12 plantations across Louisiana. We found the perfect place for us at Greenwood Plantation in St. Francisville, LA. The land was covered in old oak trees and the plantation had large, white columns that wrapped around the entire home from top to bottom.

The Dress and Veil

Next, I wanted to complete the location with my look. My dress was the first one I tried on. It wasn't a style I would have expected to love, but it was perfect when I put it on. I knew I wanted a birdcage veil--it has the vintage, southern look that I wanted, but I couldn't find one anywhere!!! My mom found Unveiled Bridal Designs and within a weeks I had my hand-made veil. I choose and helped design every detail. The veil was my favorite piece of my look. Dorene was perfect to work with.  She also packaged the veil so lovely and included a personal note. Her customer service was fabulous!!!

The Photographer

I found many photographers on-line. I compared their work and prices and choose my top three. Bridges Photography was the first I met with. I was sold. Both John and Patty were very personable and had such great wedding photos. They captured all the details of our special day. They also had great suggestions and recommendations for other wedding aspects. My favorite moment of our wedding day was actually a suggestion of theirs. Gerad and I met, just the two of us, an hour before the ceremony. John stayed out of sight, documenting our moment, as we took a walk, giggled, and just enjoyed a moment to calm down before everything got started. All of our pictures posted on Unveiled Bridal Designs are Bridges Photography.

Advice to Brides-to-Be

Pick what is the most important to you, 2-3 things, and splurge on them. Then trim back on the things that don't mean as much.

 Thank you so much,

Britney

Gerad wrote me a poem a month after we had met:

"I am Rapt in the Core of being Paramount in your Heart While practicing Acute Fortitude   Merely in view of the Fact I Adore You Heartenly spoken with Unwavering Faith"

Gerad - 9/16/2003

3 years later, to the exact day, he proposed to me. It was a perfect proposal. We were married on October 20, 2007.

Thank you Britney and Gerad for sharing your wedding
